Thailand to Host Second Season of Thailicious Journey

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) launches the second season of Thailicious Journey with Thailand culinary ambassador Chef Andy Ricker, two-time James Beard Award winner, and hosted by Thailand-based travel guru, Daniel Fraser.
This second iteration dives into unique culinary experiences in off-the-beaten-path regions including Chanthaburi, Trat and Chumphon. In an exclusive partnership with Tastemade, the food and travel video network will roll out the popular series over a three-week period.MORE Destination & Tourism

Thailicious Journey Two is a celebration of TATâs heightened focus on gastronomy tourism in conjun ction to its on-going marketing campaign titled, Open to the New Shades of Thailand, which illustrates the diversity of cultural experiences, places and acceptance of everyone throughout the country.
âThai cuisine is uniquely specific to each town within the country and serves as an ideal way to explore the innate culture of the destination and the Thai way of life,â said Charinya Kiatlapnachai, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailandâs New York office. âSeason two of Thailicious looks beyond Bangkok as Chef Andy Ricker uses his seasoned palate to uncover the beauty of the countryâs lesser-known provinces.â
Viewers will get a taste of the local Thai cuisine flavor as Chef Andy Ricker leads them on a culinary adventure exploring different dishes and unfamiliar ingredients in the following regions:
â"Chanthaburi: Located just 4 hours from Bangkok, this eastern province is blessed with peaceful beaches not far from town and quiet fishing villages. F amous for gem mining and its abundance of tropical fruits, especially durian, king of fruits, and mangosteen, queen of fruits. The journey features the old âChanthaboonâ waterfront community, âJe Eedâ seafood noodles, âChantorn Pochanaâ restaurant, and Uncle Tomâs Floating Raft Restaurant.
â"Chumphon: Chumphon is the gateway to Southern Thailand as well as islands in the Gulf of Thailand, particularly âKoh Taoâ. Famous for its beautiful underwater world, fresh seafood, and various fruits such as lady-finger bananas, rambutans, mangosteens, durians, and coffee beans. Chumphon is an ideal destination for those who are seeking relaxation in a natural and quiet atmosphere. Thailicious Journey visits the âBaan Bangsonâ village, âYai Puadâ restaurant, âBaan Pak Puakâ restaurant, and âKhao Matseeâ viewpoint.
â"Trat: Thailandâs eastern-most province, boarding Cambodia with the âKhao Banthatâ mountain range forming a natural boundary betw een the 2 countries. Trat consists of 52 large and small islands featuring long, white, sandy beaches and unspoiled coral reefs. The province is the primary launching point for trips to the popular âKoh Changâ and âKoh Kutâ, it also serves as a major fruit-growing, fishing, and gem mining region. The journey highlights Trat morning market âTalad Rai Rungâ, the old âKlong Bang Phraâ community, âBaan Huay Rangâ village, and âSri Tratâ restaurant.
